The Dance Teacher Web Story

The Dance Teacher Web Story

Steve Sirico and Angela D’Valda Sirico have been working in the dance industry for over 40 years as performers, teachers, choreographers and studio owners. Former faculty members of Dance Educators of America teacher training school, Mount Holyoke College, and Dance Teacher Magazine's Summer Teachers' Conference, they have developed several syllabi for teachers and studio owners to implement at their schools. After many years of helping dance teachers worldwide to improve their teaching and business skills, Steve Sirico and Angela D'Valda Sirico launched Dance Teacher Web in 2007.

"The one issue we have heard over and over again is that teachers are concerned with getting burnt out and that they feel that they have nowhere to go and no one to turn to in times of need. This is why we developed Dance Teacher Web. Today more than ever, new challenges abound with staffing, faculty, parents, students, choreography, costumes, income, expenses, economy and more! We know what you are going through because we are in the same business as you. After 25 years as studio owners we have made our fare share of mistakes but we have also made a lot of great decisions along the way and we are eager to share these secrets with you! We know how isolating it can be as a dance teacher or studio owner. That is why we decided to create a place where professionals can go for inspiration and motivation at a moment's notice."

In 2009, Dance Teacher Web LIVE was created to bring to life everything that is unique about Dance Teacher Web in an annual teacher conference. Drawing upon their experience as conference attendees, presenters and exhibitors, Angela and Steve designed an event where you’re not just a number. Dance Teacher Web LIVE brings together dance educators, master teachers and leading dance industry businesses from all over the world for four days of interactive classes, presentations and special experiences.

"It was important to us that our conference and expo environment be nurturing, educational and welcoming to all in attendance. We envisioned a creative oasis where everyone involved would feel relaxed, re-energized and open to learning and sharing."
