Inspiration Board

With Valentine’s Day coming up this week, why not get into the spirit with your younger dancers and build a lesson plan around the holiday?!

Brainstorm with students about why they love dance and bring this movement sentence to life! Allow their words to serve as accompaniment for an improvisational score or choreographed dance or why not add some Valentine's Day inspired music in the background too?! Some of my favorites are Vivaldi, the music from A Charlie Brown Valentine or love songs form the 1950's like "Earth Angel," "Why do Fools Fall in Love," "Venus," etc!

For an extra sweet treat, invite parents into the studio for an informal Valentine’s Day showing to see how their children's words, emotions and choreography join together to send a message of love, inspiration and dance!

Happy Valentine’s Everyone!
