While many dancers pass through our studios over the years and go on to have careers in the arts, many of those students also go on to careers outside of dance.

What we as dance educators have always known, is that the skills we teach dancers are ones that are long lasting and will infinitely stay engrained with them no matter what path they choose. Dance provides the discipline, work ethic, wherewithal, passion and patience any good employer seeks.

Forbes Magazine recently posted a list of desirable attributes employers look for when hiring. If these don’t parallel what dance provides students, I’m not sure what does. What I do know is, long after our students leave us- the lessons within the lessons will mold them into not only solid technicians but upstanding gets and amazing humans with countless things to offer any employer lucky enough to hire them. Click the link below and read the article and attributes I’m referring to! Keep doing what you do dance teachers - you are inspiring the next generation more than you know!

Good luck!
See you in the dance studio,
Jess
