7 Habits to Lead A More Peaceful Life

Dance Teachers

As dance teachers we are constantly giving to others. While it is in our DNA and it is what drives us there is also the possibility that all of that giving can lead us to not focus on ourselves.

The world we live in is hectic, demanding and can be stressful at times. The key is to be aware of how you feel, react and proceed each end every day.

Here are seven simple tips I recommend to make sure you are heading in the right direction.

1.       Stop yourself from being judgmental

2.       Say ‘thank you’ early and often

3.       Smile more, Be yourself

4.       Don’t worry about the future

5.       Listen to understand, not to respond

6.       Don’t procrastinate

7.       Prioritize yourself

These seven tips are what I choose to focus on each morning. And trust me, I need to work on these. They just don't happen automatically. Try writing them down and look at them when you wake up before getting out of bed. The mind has a funny way of focusing on where you direct your thoughts. Get a good start and then go!

Past, Present and Future…

One last thought, live today like it is your last day because we really don’t know when our last day will be.  Stop worrying about the past and don't be anxious over the future you can't control. It's called the present for a reason. It's a gift to those who choose to seize it!

PS: Hope to see you this summer in Vegas. Now more than ever dance teachers and studio owners need to get back into a live classroom, just like their students where they can safely learn, grow and share their stories of inspiration with their peers. This event will be unlike any other, with safety protocols across the board, event app and a virtual platform for 60 days post event. I can promise you 4 amazing days of IDEAS, EDUCATION and REVITALIZATION that will set a new industry standard and carry you into your most successful season yet! www.danceteachersummerexpo.com
