HERE'S HOW TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS

The last quarter of the year can bring out the best in people, or the worst. Stress abounds during this time of year both professionally…and personally.

When dealing with difficult people during the holidays, always remember that it’s them…not you. Don’t let their ‘stuff’ become your stuff. Do your best to keep calm, breathe, smile and carry on. You have control over that, just be sure you are always acting in your favor and being your own best friend. No storm lasts forever.

Keep the following in mind on a personal level during this time of year and you’ll be able to make it through the holidays for sure…

Keep your expectations modest
Don’t allow yourself to get hung up on what the holidays are supposed to be like and how you’re supposed to feel. If you’re comparing your holidays to past holidays or some abstract greeting card ideal, you’ll always come up short.

Do something different
Involve yourself in something new, something different during this time of year. That brings ‘fresh air’ and a new outlook on time honored traditions and keeps things fresh.

Lean on your support system
Surround yourself with the people you love and trust. They won’t let you fall. They can help you make this holiday season the best yet.

Don’t assume the worst
Don’t wake up tomorrow morning and tell yourself that this holiday season is going to be the worst yet. Why do that to yourself? If you’re going to think about the future, make your thoughts and wishes positive instead of negative. More often than not, you get what you ask for.

Forget the unimportant stuff
Don’t run yourself ragged just to live up to holiday tradition. Choose not to drive yourself crazy this time of year. A list of 20 items to get done can be reduced to a more comfortable number.

Don’t worry about things beyond your control
Tis the season not to stress yourself out! That’s a choice. Care about yourself enough to make it so.

Be Good to Yourself/Give Yourself a Break
No one has more power to give yourself a break and treat yourself well than you. Do it! Aren’t you worth it? Doing so this time of year makes a huge difference in how the holiday season turns out for you.

Control the Holidays - Don't Let the Holidays Control You!
The above sentence speaks for itself.

Here’s wishing you the best holiday season yet. Know that nothing’s ever perfect. This time of year is all about sharing your heart with others. Make that your goal, your priority. Why? Because when you give from your heart, there’s no better gift. Always remember; When you give from your heart, you get back double in return.

So with that said, here’s wishing you Happy Holidays, from my heart to yours. Never forget how special you are. Your Light was meant to shine bright for all to see and feel…this time of year as well as all year round!
