It's that time again. December roars in like a mad bull and while you're in the midst of the month, all you can do is hold on for the ride. It is said that about 45% of Americans still make New Year's resolutions but only 8% of those wishes actually come true. Why so few?
Say a studio owner wants to take things to the next level concerning their studio's enrollment for the New Year. That heartfelt wish then becomes their New Year's resolution. Fast forward to November and they all of a sudden realize that what they wanted to have happen during the year doesn't look like it's going to materialize.
There could be a number of reasons why things never panned out as they should have. All signs point not so much to outer circumstance, but the inner thoughts of the studio owner that made the resolution in the first place. Could it be that deep down the studio owner doesn't trust that The Universe will indeed provide for them but in The Universe's time frame, not that of the studio owner? Maybe the studio owner wanted everything to turn around by the first of May instead of trusting that once the request was made, the actual delivery date of that request would have been granted at the perfect time, maybe October 1st? Could it be that when the original request was made, the studio owner didn't trust there is a real and active Force that exists solely to hear our requests and make good on them? For those that believe in prayer, that's the same Force that one prays to. There are many words to describe that Energy. If the studio owner doesn't believe in this possibility, then how could they expect this same Force to move forward with fulfilling the request?
So what is the best way to make a New Year's resolution so that it actually comes to pass? Here are four steps that work quite well for thousands of people just like you and I each and every New Year;
1 - State your desire
Be very clear but not totally specific about what it is that you want. If you want more studio traffic, don't assign a number or a day when this will come
to pass, just make the general request. "I want my studio to prosper at a much greater level than it did last year" might be just what the doctor ordered!
If you want your studio enrollment to grow by so many, you making a specific numerical request all but slams the door to even greater number that might
have been brought to you.
2 - Do you believe it's yours? - Do you see yourself with and in it?
Make sure your core beliefs support your request. If you secretly don't believe you or your studio happens to worthy of growth because the studio down the
street seems to be doing much better, how can what you are asking for be given to you? Make sure you are feeling totally positive and crystal clear
concerning your wish.
3 - As you ask for it, KNOW THAT IT ALREADY EXISTS
This is where many stumble and fall. "How can I ask for something and then at the very same time imagine that it already is in my world?", is a question I
get asked all too often. Seeing and more importantly, feeling the end result before you even take the next step to get there is the very thing that makes
your wish so much easier to fulfill. By feeling what it feels like right here and now to have increased your enrollment by a significant amount, is
tantamount to you creating a template, a basis for The Universe for your wish to be fulfilled. If you paint an energetic picture of your end-result, you
are putting it out there so that your picture becomes a real and vivid reality.
4 - Expect it - Be thankful
The last step in this process is just as important as the three that preceded it. Once you've made your request and you can see and feel what it feels like
to have your wish fulfilled right here and now, let it go and the greater Force will go about bringing it to you in Its own and perfect timing. Feel
thankful that you are in such good company and feel how excited you'll be to receive what it is that you've asked for.
Does all of this sound a little too "out there" for you do even begin to attempt? If so, think about this; You actually facilitate this process a number of times each and every day and you've been doing this all of your life. It's how you get to and from the studio every day and it's how you put food on your table each and every night. Thoughts are things. You use them to create your reality. You think about things before they materialize in your reality. It happens all the time and most of the time you aren't even aware of it!
Thoughts are created by you which are then turned into feelings. Feelings are turned into beliefs and beliefs are the very things that The Universe uses to make your thoughts, feelings and beliefs a reality for you. That's what It does and that's what you've been doing with It ever since you got here. Add to this the fact that you'll be doing this with It till the time you leave.
New Year's resolutions are nothing more than the very same exercise you've been consciously and subconsciously using to create the steps that make up your life journey. Becoming more actively aware of this very natural process means that you'll be able to facilitate more positive changes at New Year's ...and every day of the year.
