Adage 1. 6/8

Prepare; 5th position croise, right foot front

Introduction; Demi allonge to bras bas

1- 2 Chasse en avant to degage derriere, port de bras arms to 4th position

3-4 Port de bras arms through 2nd position to 4th arabesque

5-6 Port de bras arms through 1st position to 1st arabesque

7-8 Rond de jambe en dedans to battement fondu a terre in croise, arms 4th position, join feet to a 5th demi pointe

1- 2 Ballotte devant, arms 3rd right arm front

3-4 Ballotte derriere, arms 3rd left arm front

5-8 Coupe and renverse en dehors, arms 5th, pas de bouree en tournant, to finish en face 5th position

1-4 Pas de bouree over en tournant, pas de bouree under en tournant to finish in a large 4th croise

5-6 Double pirouette en dedans in attitude devent, finishing in 1st arabesque on profile

7-8 Hold position

1-6 Penchee in arabesque

7-8 Temps lie en arriere with epaulement and with circular port de bras to croise, close 5th position and a high develop devant, and run "off stage".

Adage 2. ¾

Prepare: 5th position

Introduction: Demi allonge to bras bas

1- 2 Grand plié in 5th position

3-4 Double pirouette en dehors from the bottom of the grand plié 5th, finish with leg extended to a 90 degree second position

5-6 Ronds de jambe en l'air en dehors with ¼ turn to the right

7-8 Ronds de jambe en l'air en dehors with ¼ turn to the right

1-2 Ronds de jambe en l'air en dehors with ¼ turn to the right

3-4 Ronds de jambe en l'air en dehors with ¼ turn to the right to come back enface

5-7 Carry leg into a penche attitude derriere arms 4th crossed

, extend to arabesque

8 Close to 5th position

1-4 Developpe ecarte derriere

5-6 Grand fouette releve to 1st arabesque, finishing in fondu facing upstage OP

7-8 Repeat grand fouette finishing facing P

1-4 Pass right leg to retire and developpe ecarte devant

5-8 Rise, pose to demi pointe raising left leg to releve lent ecarte derriere, soutenue en dehors, finish en face left foot front

Repeat all other side

Advanced Pirouettes

Prepare; 5th position left foot front, upstage

Introduction: Demi allonge to bras bas

1- 2 Tepms leve derriere with petit developpe derriere croise, temps leve devant with petit developpe devant finished in 4th croise

3-4 Coupe over, chase pas de bouree en avant in ouvert, close to 5th, cabriole derriere, chasse passé en avant

5-6 Coupe chasse, pas de bouree, finish in 4th croise

7-8 Triple pirouette, en dehors finish 4th croise

1-4 Double pirouette en dedans in attitude finish in croise

5-6 Pose upstage OP and developpe to ecarte devant, tombe forward

& 7-8 Pas de bouree under on "&" to 4th croise. Single pirouette en dedans in 1st arabesque, finishing in croise en fondu

Alisa Finney re launched the Melbourne Ballet Company in 2007 and she carries responsibilities in artistic direction, programming and professional development for the company. Her successful career as a Principal ballet teacher at Gay Wightman School of Ballet for over 20 years is ably supported with an Advanced Diploma in Dance Teaching from the Australian Ballet School (Distinction), Borovansky Memorial Australian Academy of Dancing Diploma, Australian Institute of Classical Dance Licenciate Diploma, Bachelor of Applied Science (RMIT) and Bachelor of Business Administration (RMIT), plus multiple certificates in pedagogical studies that enhance her career in dance education. As Principal of the Gay Wightman School of Ballet she puts on 3 student productions annually with over 400 performers, teaches the Vaganova based BMAAD syllabus from Pre-Primary to Solo Seal and is a teacher of VCE and VET Dance as well as private coaching. Alisa has developed a 13 level elite student dance program- the Melbourne Ballet Company Coaching School, and she delivers and co- ordinates teachers development days in this system of training. Students are submitted in exams for this through the Australasian Dance Assessment. A vision to create a ballet company has been hers for many years. As a manager of a performing arts organisation she has taken the primary role to initiate and develop the Melbourne Ballet Company, securing its clear direction and future through bringing in key alliances and ensuring a stable management structure for the company. To maintain the momentum of a professional company that is high in integrity with committed and loyal personnel in the competitive environment that is Melbournes arts scene has earned her great respect within the industry and abroad. Now in its fourth year of operation, and with nine successful performance seasons, Alisa has provided a surety for Melbourne Ballet Company’s future.
